High Protein French Toast

This is one of my favorite breakfasts to make when I’m craving something sweet but don’t have time to do any baking. I love pairing it with some chicken sausage or turkey bacon and fruit on the side. You can also customize the flavor of this french toast by getting creative with the toppings. Some of my favorite toppings are:

  • A pat of salted butter and maple syrup (a classic)
  • Peanut butter and caramelized banana slices
  • Lemon juice and a dusting of powdered sugar
  • Stewed berries or peaches
  • Peanut butter and jelly

My favorite bread to use for this recipe is the Dave’s Killer Good Seed Bread because it’s high in protein and fiber and helps keep me full. But, any kind of bread will work for this recipe. I’m sure some sourdough would taste great, too.
