Ube Cold Foam Iced Matcha

I love a good cold foam on my iced coffee or matcha, but paying $7 for one every day? No thanks. That’s why I started making cold foam at home. Once you realize how easy it is, you’ll make it all the time, too! If you like the flavor of ube, you’re going to love this version of cold foam. The flavor works so well with matcha and coffee. Best of all, it’s cheaper and healthier to make at home and only takes about 5 minutes!

If you’ve never had it before, ube is a type of purple yam native to the Philippines. It has a sweet, nutty flavor and a gorgeous purple color. That flavor pairs perfectly with the strong and bitter flavors of matcha and coffee. While this recipe is by no means traditional, it’s got the classic ube flavor without a whole lot of added sugars.
Just a heads up, because homemade cold foam doesn’t have added stabilizers like many of the store-bought or coffee shop ones, it doesn’t hold its shape as long. But I find it still tastes just as delicious as it starts to melt into the iced matcha or coffee.

I hope you love this ube cold foam as much as I do. Be sure to try it on iced matcha and iced coffee to see which way you like it best! P.S. Ube extract can be a little tricky to find in stores, so I just ordered mine on amazon here.
